SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2023

EPISODE 12: Intuitive Eating and The Food Pyramid of Fear with Jenna Werner

Ever glanced at the food pyramid and thought, 'How am I supposed to climb that?' Everywhere you turn on social media, another food guru is dishing out bold, sometimes confusing advice about what we should and shouldn't eat. You might've wondered: whose food rules am I supposed to follow? And those oh so tempting carbs — are they our culinary friends or foes?

In this delicious episode, Dr. Scott Lyons chats with Jenna Werner — a registered dietitian, nutritionist, and owner Happy, Strong, Healthy. Explore the age-old love affair with the perfect body, how it's changed over time, and its influence on our meal choices. From the pull of trending diets to the empowering message of anti-diet culture, from the secrets of the "blue zones" where folks live the longest to the exciting world of intuitive eating — this episode promises a tasty journey for both your mind and soul.

Together, they tap into the whispers of our digital age — the double-edged sword of social media, where hyper-connectivity often masks isolation and where extremes scream loudest in the echo chambers. Unearth the magic (and mystery) buried in nutrition; you’ll find your own delectable 'foodgasm.' Whether you're seeking a sprinkle of wisdom, a dash of laughter, or a full course of introspection, this episode is a feast not to be missed.

Her ability to heal, learn and grow has allowed her to relate to and help thousands of people ditch their diet mindset, quiet the noise of diet culture and learn to understand what their bodies uniquely need and how to fuel them properly.

Helping people heal their relationship with wellness (fitness included!) overall and appreciate the way food nourishes and fuels their bodies is one of her greatest joys.

Jenna believes food should be fun and communicates the message, that you can reach your health goals without deprivation and diet micromanagement and that true health is dependent on both physical and mental wellbeing, across her social media platforms.

In addition, Jenna is a mom of a young toddler and currently pregnant with her second baby boy. Jenna is committed to sharing all the truths that come with raising tiny humans!

The Happy Strong Healthy team helps hundreds of people learn and heal through social media messaging, 1:1 and group coaching services and now a newly added bonus of making nutrition care more accessible by utilizing insurance benefits for nutrition care.
